Backflow Prevention Devices including Mechanical Valves, Air Gaps and Break Tanks are installed to provide protection of a potable water distribution system from contamination by industrial waste, chemical pollutants, sewerage, storm water, non-potable water supplies.

Registered Backflow preventers are required by law to be registered with the local authority and tested by a competent licenced Plumber every 12 months to ensure compliance.

WHEN TO DO BACKFLOW TESTING

  • If you have received your annual notice from the Gold Coast City Council advising that you Backflow Prevention Device is now due for annual testing call Social Plumbing and Gas!
  • We can also set up annual automatic re-scheduling of Back Flow Device testing to ensure your device complies. If the annual testing fails, we are also equipped to repair or replace the device as required. 


  • If you are unsure whether or not you have a Back Flow Prevention device at your property, please reach out and we can investigate with Council on your behalf and arrange the annual testing and certification without any hassle!
